Athletic Facilities

The Institute's fitness center is a light cardiovascular exercise facility with a variety of exercise equipment including a treadmill, step machine, elliptical trainer, and free weights as well as shower facilities. The center is accessible 24 hours a day with an activated Institute ID card and is free of charge. For reasons of liability, access is only available to adults over the age of 18 who are affiliated with the Institute. Completion of a waiver application is required prior to card activation. Waiver applications can be obtained from the receptionist in Fuld Hall.

Four tennis courts are located to the west of the von Neumann apartment buildings. Inquiries for use may be made to the receptionist in Fuld Hall.

Members of the Institute Community may also apply to Princeton University for a reduced rate permit that provides access to their athletic facilities. In order to receive the reduced rate of Faculty/Staff/Family Members an Institute ID issued to the applicant must be presented at the time of application. Detailed information regarding prices, facility rules and policies, and purchasing can be obtained at 258-3538 or www.princeton.edu/~recsport/facilities/permits.html.

The Nassau Swim Club, an outdoor pool located off the gravel road near the von Neumann apartment buildings, is a cooperative swim club located on land owned by Princeton University. Membership is extended to members of the Institute Community. The Nassau Swim Club is open from the end of May to the beginning of September. Membership information can be obtained at 430-4747 or www.nassauswimclub.org.
