The greater Princeton area has many social service agencies which can offer guidance and assistance to residents on a variety of issues. Below is a isting of a few resources, some of which (like Alcoholics Anonymous and Family Resource Center) are free and some of which offer their services on a sliding fee schedule. The cost of services in a sliding fee schedule are dependent upon income level and the individual's ability to pay. Additional information can be obtained by calling the United Way's "First Call for Help" telephone line at 924-5865. First Call for Help can recommend the most appropriate local agency for the issue you may be dealing with.
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) 609-888-3333
This is a self-help organization designed to help recovering alcoholics maintain sobriety. AA also offers family support meetings.
Corner House 609-924-8018
This center on Witherspoon Street offers drug and alcohol abuse counseling primarily for adolescents and teenagers.
Family and Children Services of Central New Jersey 609-924-2098
This agency provides counseling services on a sliding scale for a variety of family issues.
Family Resource Center 609-924-2167
This center located at the corner of Vandeventer and Nassau Streets offers discussion groups for parents as well as parenting classes.
Gamblers Anonymous (GA) 609-429-6516
Patterned after Alcoholics Anonymous, this self-help group offers free assistance to individuals who have a gambling problem.
HiTops 609-683-5155
This group is directed towards educating teens about their sexual health and provides a counseling service to teenagers.
Princeton Senior Resource Center 609-924-7108
This center assists seniors in the Princeton area to maintain a healthy and independent lifestyle.
Trinity Counseling Services 609-924-0060
This is a non-profit counseling service which provides counseling on a sliding scale to individuals facing a variety of personal or family issues.
Womanspace 609-394-9000
This organization provides emergency services (both housing and counseling) for women and children who are involved in abusive relationships.
